Aurora Biolabs Protein A Resin is a new type of affinity chromatography resin made by coupling alkali-resistant Protein A with a highly rigid agarose substrate by epoxy activation. Compared with traditional antibody affinity media, it has a more stable ligand, faster flowrate, and lower backpressure and is suitable for the capture of monoclonal antibodies or FC fusion proteins from high-volume cell cultures as well as the capture of polyclonal antibodies from peritoneal fluid or blood plasma. It is also suitable for capturing polyclonal antibodies from ascites or plasma.
The ligand of Aurora Biolabs Protein A is a recombinant protein A fragment engineered to provide excellent stability by removing protease-sensitive amino acids and replacing base-resistant amino acids with non-base-resistant amino acids. Protein A is obtained from E. coli fermentation and purified free of any contaminants from animal sources.
The resin can be cleaned with 0.1-0.5M NaOH in situ, avoiding the use of expensive and corrosive cleaning reagents and allowing ease of scale-up productions at a fraction of costs associated with other resins.
